What this site is, what it is not, and the limits of what we can promise about content we compiled rather than tested.
By using Stitch & Selvage you accept these terms. In short: this is editorial content compiled from published manufacturer specifications, we have not tested the products we write about, prices and specifications change, and you should check anything that matters before you spend money on it.

About this site
Stitch & Selvage is an independent publication about sewing machines and sewing equipment, published by Slate Mill Group. It sells nothing. It links to retailers who do.
The content
- Everything here is editorial opinion and compiled specification, not professional advice.
- We have not tested the products we write about. We say so on every page that recommends one. Our recommendations are compiled from manufacturers' published specifications and our own published scoring formula.
- Specifications change. Manufacturers revise models, alter what is in the box, and occasionally publish errors of their own. We check against their pages on the dates we state, and those dates are on the page.
- Prices change constantly. Every price here is pulled live at the moment you load the page and stamped with the date. The retailer's own page is always the authority.
- Availability changes. A product we recommend today may be discontinued tomorrow.
Use of the site
You may read, link to, quote briefly with attribution, and share pages from this site. You may not republish substantial portions of it, scrape it systematically, or present its content as your own. The text, structure and scoring on this site are our own work.
Product names, brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary. Nothing on this site implies endorsement by, or affiliation with, any manufacturer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither the publisher nor the author is liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content — including any purchase you make through a link here. Your remedy for a product problem is with the retailer or the manufacturer.
Safety
Sewing machines have a powered needle and sergers have a blade. Read your machine's manual, follow the manufacturer's safety instructions, and unplug the machine before cleaning it or changing parts near the needle. Nothing on this site substitutes for the instructions that came with your equipment.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, tell us at info@stitchandselvage.com. We check the claim against the manufacturer's own page, fix what is wrong and date the fix. The correction policy is on the editorial policy page.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The updated date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
