The Amazon Associates statement

Stitch & Selvage is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

Our Amazon Associates tracking ID is `stitchandselvage-20`. Every Amazon link on this site carries it.

How an affiliate link works, in plain terms

1. 01You click a buy button on one of our pages.
2. 02The click passes through our own `/go` redirect, which adds our tracking tag and sends you to the retailer. It is a redirect, not a tracker — we do not store who you are.
3. 03You land on the product page at the retailer's normal price.
4. 04If you buy, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale, out of the retailer's margin rather than out of your pocket.

Every earning link on this site opens in a new tab and carries `rel="sponsored nofollow noopener"`, which is how we tell search engines the link is commercial. Every buy button also carries a visible #ad label and a link back to this page. We would rather over-disclose.

What commission does not do

• It does not set the rank order. Rank comes from the scoring formula published in full on how we pick. Commission rates are not an input to it.
• It does not buy a mention. We do not sell placements, and there is no rate card because there is nothing for sale.
• It does not stop us saying no. Every roundup here names a pick we recommend against — a product we could otherwise earn from. That is the point of doing it.
• It does not change the price you pay. The retailer's price is the same whether you arrive through our link or type the address yourself.

Which retailers we earn from

Amazon, and at the time of writing nothing else. We have not joined any other affiliate network, and we will not build a tracked link for a program we are not part of — a link that pretends to be a partnership is exactly the kind of thing this page exists to prevent.

If we join another program in future, the disclosure here will be updated to name it before any link goes live.

Where the disclosure appears

A short disclosure appears above the first buy button on every page that carries one, not buried in a footer. A `#ad` label and a link back to this page appears under every individual buy button, including the ones where no live price is available. The standing Amazon Associates statement is in the footer of every page on the site.

What we might get wrong

We have not used any of the products on this site, and we say so on every page that recommends one. Our recommendations are compiled from published manufacturer specifications and our own arithmetic, and both can be wrong — a manufacturer can publish an error, a specification can change between model years, and we can misread a page.

Prices

Every price shown on this site is pulled live from the retailer at the moment you load the page and stamped with the date it was checked. Where a live figure is not available, the button reads “Check price on Amazon” rather than showing a number. Prices change constantly; the one on the retailer's own page is always the real one.
